INTRODUCED

HB 173 -- Motor Vehicle Safety Inspections

Sponsor:  Robirds

This bill adds headlight alignment to the list of equipment
requirements that must pass inspection on an official motor
vehicle inspection.

The maximum fee charged for an official motor vehicle inspection
will be increased from $7 to $14 and $6 to $12 for a trailer or
motorcycle.  The amount received from each inspection by the
Missouri State Highway Patrol will be increased from $.75 to
$1.50 with $1.00 of the increase credited to the Highway Fund
and $.50 credited to the Highway Patrol Inspection Fund.
Currently the amount is $.50 and $.25 respectively.
