HB 145 -- SEWER CORPORATIONS SPONSOR: Wiggins COMMITTEE ACTION: Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee on Environment and Energy by a vote of 18 to 0. This bill repeals the requirement for the Public Service Commission to submit an annual report and meet annually with the State Water Pollution Control Board on the condition of regulated sewer corporations in the state. FISCAL NOTE: No impact on state funds. PROPONENTS: Supporters say that the Public Service Commission and the Department of Natural Resources have developed a memorandum of understanding to ensure routine sharing of information. This arrangement makes the requirement for an annual report and meeting unnecessary. Testifying for the bill were Representative Wiggins; and Public Service Commission.
