HB 1056 -- Motor Vehicle Registration

Sponsor: Kreider

This bill revises the delinquency penalty fee on certificates of
ownership.

Currently, if application for a certificate is not made within
30 days after a vehicle is acquired, a delinquency penalty fee
of $25 is imposed for the first 30 days of delinquency and $25
for each 30 days thereafter, not to exceed a total of $100.

Under this bill, the current delinquency penalty fee structure
will apply on vehicles and trailers less than 10 years old.
However, the penalty fee on those 10 years old or older will be
$25 and may be waived by the Director of Revenue for a good
cause shown.
