HB 1044 -- Transfers of School Funds

Sponsor: Marble

Currently, if a school district makes an improper transfer of
moneys between funds, the Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education will deduct the amount inappropriately transferred
from the district's state school aid in the next year. This
bill permits the department to deduct not more than 5% of the
district's current operating costs or the amount transferred in
error, whichever is less.
