CCS/SCS/HCS/HB 348 - This act concerns registration of juvenile sex offenders. The act requires persons who have been adjudicated as delinquent by a juvenile court for felony sex offenses to register as a juvenile sex offender with the county juvenile office within 10 days of the juvenile's residence in the county.

The registration form shall include a written statement containing the juvenile's name, address, social security number, phone number, school, place of employment, and a description of the offense and age and gender of the victim, as well as fingerprints and a photograph. Information in the registration forms shall be kept confidential and may be released by the juvenile offices only to persons and agencies authorized by law to receive information from juvenile court records.

The official in charge of the juvenile's custody is required to inform the juvenile of the registration requirement upon release from custody. The official is also required to inform the juvenile office of the county where the juvenile expects to reside. The obligation to register shall terminate when the juvenile offender reaches age 21, unless the person is otherwise required to register as an adult offender. Failure to register or listing false information on the registration form is a Class A misdemeanor.
