FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Secretary of State (SOS) officials assume no fiscal impact to their office or to state funds.

Kansas City Election Board officials stated this proposal would impose a cost of re-programming that would not exceed $1000.

Cape Girardeau County officials stated the proposed change is a duplication of the present abstract sent to the SOS and assume no fiscal impact.

The Cass County Clerk assumes no fiscal impact.

Oversight assumes any costs to local governments would not be significant and would be defrayed with existing appropriations.

FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 2000 FY 2001 FY 2002

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

DESCRIPTION

This act would require the reporting of absentee ballot results when the verification board issues a statement of election results, except when such reporting would reveal how any single voter voted.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
