FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Cass County officials assume no fiscal impact.

Platte County officials stated their Collector's fees all go to the County's General Revenue Fund. Officials assume no fiscal impact.

Oversight assumes that certain counties could receive additional income in an amount equal to fees currently collected and retained as compensation by their collector. Oversight assumes based on responses that some counties would have no fiscal impact. Oversight will show fiscal impact to certain counties General Revenue Fund as zero or positive unknown. Oversight assumes income to any one county in any one year would be insignificant.

Oversight assumes no fiscal impact to state funds.

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal eliminates the right of county collectors to retain fees collected. It also eliminates provisions which allow collectors of first class counties to contract with cities for tax collecting.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
