Senate Interim Committee on Redistricting

The committee is charged to study the issues of Congressional and Legislative redistricting and determine how to prepare for redistricting including the hiring of specialized personnel and the purchasing of specialized equipment.

The Senate Interim Committee may solicit input and information from any group, organization and entity that it deems necessary to fulfill its duties including the state demographer, Ryan Burson.

The staff of Senate Research shall provide such legal, research, clerical, technical and drafting services as the Senate Interim Committee may require in the performance of its duties. In addition, the actual and necessary expenses of the Senate Interim Committee members and legislative staff shall be paid from the Senate Contingent Fund.

On or before December 15, 1999, the Senate Interim Committee shall deliver to the office of the President Pro Tem a detailed, written report which may include recommendations and potential legislative responses, if any.
