Senate Subcommittee on Asset Forfeiture

The committee is charged to study the issues of asset forfeiture in Missouri and the interaction of relevant constitutional provisions and state and federal statutes.

The Subcommittee may solicit input and information from any group, organization and entity that it deems necessary to fulfill its duties including appropriate law enforcement agencies.

The staff of Senate Research shall provide such legal, research, clerical, technical and drafting services as the Subcommittee may require in the performance of its duties. In addition, the actual and necessary expenses of the Subcommittee members and legislative staff shall be paid from the Senate Contingent Fund.

On or before December 15, 1999, the Subcommittee shall deliver to the office of the President Pro Tem a detailed, written report which may include recommendations and potential legislative responses, if any.
