Joint Interim Committee on Automobile Dealers
and Manufacturers
The Joint Interim Committee is charged with addressing the following issues regarding automobile dealers and manufacturers:

Study the overall relationship between automobile dealers and manufacturers;

Study the Missouri Motor Vehicle Franchise Practices Act (Sections 407.810, et al, RSMo); and
-
Determine what statutory modifications or additional regulatory oversight, if any, are warranted.
The Joint Interim Committee may solicit input and information from any group, organization and entity that it deems necessary to fulfill its duties.
The staff of Senate Research, House Research and Legislative Research shall provide such legal, research, clerical, technical and drafting services as the Joint Interim Committee may require in the performance of it's duties. In addition, the actual and necessary expenses of the Joint Interim Committee members and legislative staff shall be paid from their respective contingent funds.
On or before December 15, 1999, the Joint Interim Committee shall deliver to my office a detailed, written report which may include recommendations and potential legislative responses, if any.
