AN ACT

To amend chapter 190, RSMo, by adding thereto one new section relating to political subdivisions operating as ambulance districts.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A.  Chapter 190, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section, to be known as section 190.088, to read as follows:

190.088.  1.  Any municipality or county in this state which is serviced by more than one political subdivision acting as an ambulance district in such municipality or county may, by a vote of the qualified voters voting in such municipality or county, choose one such political subdivision to service and tax as an ambulance district the residents of such municipality or county.

2.  The vote described in this subsection, if authorized by the governing body of the municipality or county, shall be submitted to the voters of such municipality or county, at any general or municipal general election, in substantially the following form:

NOTICE TO ALL VOTERS IN . . . . (name of municipality or county): CHOOSE ONLY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING DISTRICTS FOR AMBULANCE SERVICE AND TAXATION.

(name of one political subdivision acting as an ambulance district)

(name of other political subdivision acting as an ambulance district)

Such form shall be followed until all political subdivisions acting as ambulance districts in such municipality or county have been listed, and all portions of such form shall, if possible, be placed on the same page of the ballot.  The political subdivision receiving the most votes shall continue to serve such municipality or county and shall be allowed to tax such municipality or county pursuant to all





applicable laws.  All other political subdivisions shall cease service and taxation of such municipality or county on the first day of January in the year following such vote.
