Current Bill Summary

SB 501 - This act modifies the current law regarding the display and disclosure of one's social security number on a commercial and noncommercial driver's license. Current law allows an applicant to obtain a driver's license without a social security number if the applicant presents a certified statement that his or her religious beliefs prohibit the use. Under this act, an applicant can receive a license without a social security number if he or she presents a certified statement that he objects to the display of the number, regardless of the reason.
