SB 378 - This act permits the Dental Board to require a person to submit him or herself to the well-being committee as a condition of certification or continued licensure. The Board may establish the well-being committee to aid dentists or dental hygienists who suffer from illness, substance abuse, or mental or physical impairments. All communications involving the licensee and the well-being committee are confidential and are not considered public records.

The well-being committee may disclose information about an impaired licensee when it is necessary to further the intervention, treatment, or rehabilitation of the licensee, when the release is authorized by the licensee, when the committee must make a report to the Board, or when the information is subject to a court order.
