Current Bill Summary

SB 368 - This act revises the requirement for the practice of physical therapy. It deletes a provision in current law prohibiting physical therapists from working independently.

Physical therapists may not make medical diagnoses, treat ailments other than through the practice of physical therapy, or pay referral fees.

Physical therapists may treat patients for thirty days without referrals from other health care providers. They may treat patients for greater than thirty days if evidence is shown of improved physical therapy-related symptoms.
