Current Bill Summary

SB 99 - This act requires individual and group health insurance policies to provide coverage for: 1)pelvic examinations and pap smears for nonsymptomatic women; 2) prostate examinations for nonsymptomatic men; and 3) colorectal cancer examinations for nonsymptomatic individuals. The examinations shall be given in accordance with the current American Cancer Society guidelines. The services shall be provided with no deductible, but the patient will be required to pay any copayment, not to exceed $25, if required by his or her policy. This provision shall not apply to accident-only, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long- term care, or other limited benefit health insurance policies.
