Current Bill Summary

SB 9 - This act prohibits insurance companies from using an individual's credit history when determining whether to write, renew or cancel an insurance policy unless the individual's credit history is relevant to the types of risks to be insured. An insurance company which violates this act will be subject to the provisions of the Unfair Trade Practices Act. This act shall apply to insurance policies entered into or after January 1, 2000.
