FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Office of Administration, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Conservation, the Department of Economic Development - Division of Professional Registration, the Department of Social Services, the Department of Health, the Department of Public Safety - Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Department of Mental Health, and the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan assume this proposal would not fiscally impact their agencies.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

Small businesses would be expected to be fiscally impacted to the extent they would incur additional administrative duties if they obtain a lien as a result of the requirements of this proposal.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal would provide that all health practitioners shall have a lien upon any and all claims by individuals. Current law only allows health care institutions to have these liens.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
