FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials of the Missouri Municipal League assume no fiscal impact on municipal governments.

Officials of the City of Bowling Green assume no fiscal impact.

Officials of the City of Fenton assume that increasing the term of aldermen from 2 to 4 years would result in some minimal savings from the costs of conducting elections. Officials estimate savings to be $1000 beginning in FY2001.

Oversight assumes this proposal is permissive and would have no fiscal impact on fourth class cities unless the voters would approve increasing aldermen terms from 2 to 4 years. Cities that would adopt four year terms for aldermen could expect some election cost savings.

Savings per city would be minimal and cannot be determined.

Election costs savings will be shown as unknown beginning in FY2001.
