FISCAL ANALYSIS

ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Agriculture, Department of Transportation, and the Public Service Commission assume this proposal would not fiscally impact their agencies.

After lengthy discussions with the Department of Agriculture's, Division of Weights and Measures, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) assumes this proposal would not fiscally impact their agency. DNR further assumes that this legislation specifically addresses the installation of any new petroleum tanks associated with the retail sale of petroleum products and that currently installed petroleum tanks would not have to be removed and replaced with 18 thousand gallon tanks.

FISCAL IMPACT - State Government FY 1999 FY 2000 FY 2001
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Local Government FY 1999 FY 2000 FY 2001
(10 Mo.)
$0 $0 $0
FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

Retail sellers of petroleum products would expect to be fiscally impacted to the extent that installation of any new petroleum tanks would have to meet the minimum requirements.

DESCRIPTION

This proposal would require that the rules of the Department of Agriculture require any retailer of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) to own and operate one or more storage tanks located in Missouri with a combined capacity of at least 18,000 gallons.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental space.
