SB 119 - Operators of hotels and other lodging establishments may refuse a room to a person or evict a person who is under the influence of alcohol and creating a public nuisance, unable to pay, who may create an unreasonable risk because of the possible use of the room or a person who the operator believes is seeking the room for an unlawful purpose.

A guest may be required to show proof of identification and demonstrate the ability to pay. If a guest is under the age of eighteen, the parent may be required to accept liability and responsibility for any damage done and may also be required to advance a deposit.

A court may order restitution for damages inflicted by a guest and restitution may include lost revenue due to the damage.

Guest registers may be kept in any medium which allows their reproduction.

The act is identical to HCS/SB 695 (1996).
