SJR 6 - This resolution, if approved by the voters, would repeal the Citizens' Commission on Compensation for Elected Officials, approved by the voters in 1994. The Commission is responsible for setting the salaries of statewide elected officials, judges and members of the General Assembly. The Commission's first recommendations were released on November 30, 1996 and, if not disapproved by the General Assembly by February 1, 1997, will take effect in July, 1997. The Commission will not made additional recommendations until late 1998.
