SB 399 - Juvenile court personnel employed on or after July 1, 1998 in circuits containing only second, third or fourth class counties shall become members of the Missouri State Employees' Retirement System (MOSERS). Any such employee shall receive creditable service in MOSERS for previous service in the juvenile court or previous service in MOSERS.

Any juvenile court employee who had been in the Local Government Employees' Retirement System (LAGERS) may elect to: 1) transfer credit in LAGERS to MOSERS; or 2) immediately vest in LAGERS. Such election is irrevocable.

CIRCUITS COMPOSED OF AT LEAST ONE FIRST CLASS COUNTY: A circuit which includes at least one first class county shall continue to pay juvenile court personnel out of county funds. The state shall reimburse such circuits at a rate equal to 5% of such circuit's juvenile court personnel budget for calendar year 1996. Any member of MOSERS who, prior to July 1, 1998, is employed by a circuit comprised solely of a first class county or the city of St. Louis may elect to remain a member of MOSERS if such election is made by October 1, 1998.

This act shall take effect July 1, 1998.
