This bill permits the county commission of Putnam County to
appoint, by ordinance, a replacement for the commissioner of a
special road district, if the current commissioner resigns,
dies, or is no longer eligible to serve.  Any person appointed
as commissioner must be a qualified voter in the district.
County commissioners are eligible to serve as special road
district commissioners.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that this bill will only affect
Putnam County and will help the county find someone to take the
place of the road district commissioner when he resigns.

Testifying for the bill was Representative Summers.
