HB 523 -- ROAD DISTRICTS

This bill permits the governing bodies of Clay and St. Louis
counties to submit by resolution to the voters of all
unincorporated areas of the county the question of creating a
road benefit district.  The resolution must contain the name of
the proposed district, its boundaries, which may contain less
than 640 noncontiguous acres, and a tax levy not exceeding 20
cents per $100 assessed valuation. Upon approval by a majority
of the voters the governing body is authorized to collect the
tax  and place the funds in a separate account to be used only
for the improvement, maintenance, and construction of roads and
bridges in the road benefit district.

on  Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 17 to 0.
