right to be present.

Law by a vote of 14 to 1.

This bill provides victims of certain crimes the right to be
present at all criminal proceedings at which the defendant has a
right to be present.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the legislation allows victims
to be present in the courtroom even if they are subsequently
called as a witness at the proceeding.

Testifying for the bill were Representative Parker; and Office
of the Attorney General.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
