HB 540 - This act makes changes to guardianship statutes. First, a guardian of a minor is not obligated, by such guardianship, to use personal financial resources for the support of the minor. If the minor's estate and available public benefits are inadequate for the proper care of the minor ward, the guardian may apply to the county commission for additional resources.
