HB 0379 (Truly Agreed) Boats and Watercraft
Bill Summary

SCS/HB 379 - This act contains several changes in the law on watercraft. No person under age 14 shall operate any vessel or watercraft without on-board supervision. This requirement currently applies only to motorboats. The speed limit for watercraft shall end an hour before sunrise instead of the current one-half hour.

The orange or red flag display requirement is revised. The flag shall be displayed when a person is in the water, not when being towed. This requirement applies whether or not the motor is running.

Any person obstructing the flow of traffic upon a lake of this state is guilty of a Class C misdemeanor for the first offense and a Class B misdemeanor for any subsequent offense.

Identifying information for docks shall be displayed on the dock instead of attached to it. The fee of $10 for enforcement of dock identification is removed.

The act has an Emergency Clause.
