Bill Summary

HB 249 - This act provides that beginning in 1997 in Scott and Christian counties, the initial board that oversees central dispatch of emergency services shall consist of two members from each township within the area and one at-large member, who shall serve as the initial chairperson. Voters shall elect the board members. Four board members from the townships shall be elected to a term of two years, and four from the townships and the at- large member shall be elected to a term of four years. All members thereafter shall serve four years.
