HB 0087 Third Class Counties May Adopt Building & Electrical Codes; Allows All Counties To Do So By Initiative Petition
Bill Summary

HCS/HBs 87 & 264 - This act allows county commissions in third class counties to adopt building and electrical regulations and issue building permits. Currently, only first and second class counties may do so. The governing body of third class counties may submit the issue of adoption of a code of building and electrical regulations to voters of the county. Voters of any county may place the issue of adoption of building and electrical code of regulations on a ballot by initiative petition.

SA 1 - COUNTY COMMISSIONS MAY REPLACE ANY MEMBER FOR FAILING TO ATTEND BOARD MEETINGS WITHOUT GOOD CAUSE IF THE COMMISSION HAS THE AUTHORITY TO APPOINT MEMBERS. SA 3/SA 1 - ANY CITY WITH A BUILDING CODE SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO REGULATE BILLBOARDS, INCLUDING BILLBOARDS ON THE TWA DOME.
