HB 0058 Provides Procedures for Release of Certain Personal Information by the Department of Revenue
Bill Summary

HB 58 - This act allows individuals to prevent the disclosure of personal information contained in Department of Revenue records. Such personal information includes the person's photograph, social security number, name and address, but does not include information about that person's accidents, driving violations, or driver's status.

A notice that personal information may be disclosed, along with a notice that the person has the right to prohibit such disclosure, must be printed on all forms for issuance or renewal of motor vehicle titles, motor vehicle registrations, and drivers' licenses. Personal information in bulk disclosures can only be used for surveys, marketing and solicitations.
