ASSUMPTION

Officials from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
assume the proposal would result in no fiscal impact to DESE or school
districts.

Officials from the Department of Corrections, Jefferson Police Department,
Attorney General's Office, Missouri Sheriff's Association, Department of
Public Safety, Office of Prosecuting Attorney (Boone County) and Office of
Prosecution Services assume the proposal would result in no fiscal impact to
the agencies.

FISCAL IMPACT - Small Business

No direct fiscal impact to small businesses would be expected as a result of
this proposal.


DESCRIPTION

The proposal would remove the requirement that assault in the third degree be
reported by the principal to law enforcement and superintendent.  The
proposal would allow the principal to determine whether an act of assault in
the third degree would require reporting to the superintendent or law
enforcement.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
