Current Bill Summary

SB 437 - This act would create an exemption to a bond requirement in public works contracts for certain persons providing works of art.

Current law requires that a contractor shall furnish a bond to the public entity for any public works contract with a estimated cost greater than $25,000. This act exempts persons who design, create or otherwise provide works of art under a program established by a city for such purpose from the bond requirement.
