Current Bill Summary

SCS/SB 402 - This act defines home health services as items and services such as nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, home health aid or medical service provided at the residence of the patient on a part-time or intermittent basis.

However, items and services such as nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, home health aid or medical service provided in a Residential Care Facility I or II or a Skilled Nursing Facility are not to be considered as home health services.

This act would allow a podiatrist to order health services rendered to any patient being served by a home health agency, if the treatment is related to podiatric care.
