SB 279 - This act pertains to architects, professional engineers and professional land surveyors.

New definitions are added for "Design/build contractor", "Partnership" and "Professional land surveyor" among other changes in section 327.011.

Only architects and professional engineers licensed in Missouri and corporations authorized under Chapter 327, RSMo, may perform building or structural inspections specified in section 327.427 of this act.

No plans, specifications or other documents prepared for a project, with the seal of an architect, professional engineer or professional land surveyor may be used for a location other then the original location unless reviewed by the original licensed professional. The documents must be resealed, dated and signed by the professional before any reuse.

Each architect, professional engineer or professional land surveyor shall have a personal seal in a form prescribed by the Board. This seal shall be the legal equivalent of the licensee's signature whenever used. The owner of the seal shall be responsible for the architectural, engineering or surveying documents when the seal is placed on any of these documents.

Beginning January 1, 2010, each applicant for examination and licensure as a professional architect must hold a degree from an accredited degree program from a school of architecture.

Requirements for licenses as a professional engineer or professional land surveyor are also included in the act.

Penalty provisions for violations of the provisions of this act are included.
