Current Bill Summary

SB 266 - This act would require administrative law judges (ALJs) to accept settlements between the employer and employee if the settlement amount equals or exceeds the physician's rating.

This act also would prohibit ALJs, legal advisors and workers' compensation division employees from referring claimants to any attorney, physician or other provider.

If a party is unrepresented, ALJs are required to explain their rights as unrepresented parties before approving the settlement.
