SB 264 - This act increases the payments made by the
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to sheltered
workshops. Currently, the Department pays each sheltered
workshop nine dollars per six-hour or longer day worked by a
handicapped worker. The act increases the payment per day worked
as follows: eleven dollars per day worked until June 30, 1998;
twelve dollars per day worked beginning on July 1, 1998 and
thirteen dollars per day worked on July 1, 2000 and thereafter.
