Current Bill Summary

SB 158 - This act allows the Department of Health to place the holder of a license to provide child care on probation. Under current law, licensees may be suspended or have their license revoked. The act also establishes an internal appeals process which can be used by child care providers subject to sanction by the Department. The Department is authorized to seek injunctive relief, through the office of the Attorney General, to stop the operation of a child care facility, if it has reason to believe that conditions warrant such action.
