Current Bill Summary

SB 24 - Insurers offering health insurance coverage shall include coverage for physician prescribed equipment, supplies and self-management training to be used in the management and treatment of diabetes. Coverage shall include persons with gestational, Type I and Type II diabetes. Health care services shall not charge greater deductibles or copayments for these service and may not reduce or eliminate coverage due to the requirements of this act.

This act applies to policies issued or delivered after January 1, 1998. It does not apply to limited benefit health insurance policies.
