AN ACT

To repeal sections 21.145 and 476.380, RSMo 1994, relating to reimbursement for expenses, and to enact in lieu thereof two new sections relating to the same subject.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

     Section A. Sections 21.145 and 476.380, RSMo 1994, are repealed and two new sections enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as sections 21.145 and 476.380, to read as follows:

     21.145. Each senator or representative shall be reimbursed from the state treasury for actual and necessary expenses in [the amount of thirty-five dollars per day] an amount not to exceed 80% of the federal per diem established by the Internal Revenue Service for Jefferson City for each day on which the journal of the senate or house, respectively, shows the presence of such senator or representative. Upon certification by the president and secretary of the senate and by the speaker and chief clerk of the house of representatives as to the respective members thereof, the commissioner of administration shall approve and the state treasurer shall pay monthly such expense allowance.

     476.380. Each judge attending the annual meeting of the conference, and each member of the executive council attending meetings of the council not to exceed four times each year, shall receive his actual expenses of travel and his necessary expense for subsistence not to exceed 80% of [thirty-five dollars per day] the federal per diem established by the Internal Revenue Service for the city hosting such conference or council meeting, to be paid from the state treasury on order of the presiding officer certified to the commissioner of administration.
