DESCRIPTION

This proposal would change the current statutes pertaining to HIV testing.
It would allow laboratory tests to detect the presence of the HIV infection
in blood and other biological specimens taken from an individual. The
proposal would also require medical care providers to report all persons
diagnosed with the HIV infection to the Department of Health regardless of
how the diagnosis is determined.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
