DESCRIPTION

This proposal clarifies that only drug offenders who have been convicted of
drug crimes punishable as Class B felonies are subject to Class A felony
punishments if found to be prior or persistent offenders.

This legislation is not federally mandated, would not duplicate any other
program and would not require additional capital improvements or rental
space.
