AN ACT

To amend chapter 190, RSMo, by adding one new section relating to the provisions of emergency response services.


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Chapter 190, RSMo, is amended by adding thereto one new section to be known as section 190.500, to read as follows:

190.500. 1. The department of health shall develop and establish a First Responder" program which will allow the use of automatic external defibrillators by first responders. The department of health shall establish the program by rule and regulation.

2. The program established pursuant to subsection 1 of this section shall be in two stages. The first stage shall be an appropriate pilot project in any county of the first classification which contains a city with a population of one hundred thousand or more inhabitants which adjoins no other county of the first classification. The second stage shall, upon approval of the department, be statewide.
