To repeal section 447.624, RSMo 1994, relating to abandoned property proceedings, and to enact one new section relating to the same subject.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI,

AS FOLLOWS:

Section A. Section 447.624, RSMo 1994, is repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 447.624, to read as follows:

447.624. The proceedings shall be commenced by filing a verified petition in the circuit court in the county in which the property is located. The petition shall allege that the property meets the conditions to be declared abandoned pursuant to the provisions of section 447.622. [All parties in interest] The owners of record of the property shall be named as defendants in the petition and summons shall be issued and service had as in other in rem or quasi in rem civil [cases] actions.
