SB 953 - The act prohibits candidates and officeholders from knowingly accepting a contribution from an owner, employee or lobbyist of an excursion gambling boat. The penalty for violation would be the same other violations of Chapter 130, RSMo: referral to the Ethics Commission for investigation and a violator could be convicted of a Class A misdemeanor (at least six months in jail) and could be required to pay a civil penalty of up to twice the amount of the illegal contribution.

Owners, employees and lobbyists of excursion gambling operations are prohibited from making contributions to officeholders and candidates. The first violation is a Class A misdemeanor and subsequent violations are Class D felonies (up to ten years in jail).
