Current Bill Summary

SB 892 - This act contains two provisions for city and county regulation of outdoor advertising. Cities and counties with planning authority are authorized to enact ordinances to regulate essential service signs within their boundaries. Any revenues must be used for essential service signs or for transportation enhancement activities.

Cities and counties with planning and zoning authority may prohibit or regulate outdoor advertising signs within their jurisdiction. The regulations may be more strict than state law, and conditional use permits may be required. All outdoor advertising shall comply with national standards.
