Current Bill Summary

SB 689 - This act would permit the county commissions in all counties to set speed limits and enact traffic regulations. Currently, only second class counties have the authority to set speed limits on county roads in the unincorporated areas of the county. However, all counties have the authority to set speed limits on state roads in the unincorporated areas of the county (304.010).

This act would also permit the governing body of any city, town or village or county to enact ordinances providing for the demolition of buildings which have been declared to be a public

nuisance. Farm buildings and structures are exempted from this section.
