SCS/SB 641 - This act provides for the Director of he Department of Insurance to establish a process for the certification of managed care plans. The Director is to establish procedures for a periodic review and recertification of qualified managed care plans. Certification of a previously qualified managed health care plan may be suspended or terminated by the Director if the plan no longer meets certification requirements.

The Director shall establish standards for certification of managed care plans which conduct business in Missouri. Section 4 of the act includes standards for certification of managed care plans.

The act specifies that nothing in sections 1 through 6 of the act shall be construed as an any willing provider provision.

All managed care entities shall be in compliance with the provision of this act by January 1, 1998.
