Current Bill Summary

SB 432 - The Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners is expanded to six commissioners (currently four). The Governor will appoint the new commissioners, one from a list of three retired police officers, none of whom shall have achieved a rank greater than sergeant, submitted by the retirement board to serve a two year term, and one from a list of three names submitted by the Mayor (selected from a list of seven submitted by the legislative body of the city) to serve a four year term.

The Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission is expanded to ten members (currently nine), with the new member to be a peace officer of a rank no greater than sergeant to be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate.
