SB 275 - This act authorizes the Division of State Parks within the Department of Natural Resources to recruit, train and use volunteer workers to supplement its programs.

The Division shall provide supervisory staff, provide written rules, educate the volunteers regarding their duties and provide recognition of outstanding service. Volunteers on special assignments shall be provided reimbursement for travel and necessary expenses, as determined by the Division, from regular appropriations to the Division.

Volunteers shall have the protection of the legal expense fund and liability protection. Volunteers may use state vehicles, subject to all applicable rules for use of state vehicles by state employees. A volunteer may be terminated from service by the Director of the Division.

This act has an emergency clause. RONALD J. LEONE
