Current Bill Summary

SB 228 - This act provides that grantees who received or who are receiving funds under the 1993-94 special allocation for flood-impacted communities are not subject to the prohibition against receiving more than one grant during any two-year period for a period ending two years after the final grant allocation for flood-impacted communities is received by the grantee.

In addition, this act permits a city, town, village or county served by the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District to pass an ordinance for the repair of lateral sewer service lines on residential property having six or less dwelling units. Upon voter approval, an additional property tax would be assessed on all residential property having six or less dwelling units. The additional property tax must be used to pay for the costs reasonably associated with and necessary to administer and carry out the defective lateral sewer service line repairs. Also contained in CCS/HS #2/HCS/HBs 484, 199 & 72 and CCS#2/SCS/HCS/HB 88. RONALD J. LEONE
